Cycle Shopping

Ivan is very excited now that Renata is getting some "real" bike gear. We got female specific bike shorts from AliExpress, and close-out jersey and real cycling shoes from Chain Reaction Cycles! We have a long pants and base layers for the autumn weather (11-21 C), and fitting rain jackets for the occasional light drizzle.

Training Report

Dear Ms. Liew,

Your training report summary is attached. We are happy to report that you are progressing well, and your husband is pleased with your efforts and passes on the message that he loves you!

As you can see, your distances have been increasing and also importantly your average speed is rising. Even though the last ride was a bit slower, note that you were feeling tired so your performance is still overall good!

See you at the next training ride on Sat 26 Aug. You may bring your sister-in-law for one complimentary free training session.

Incentives

We found a lovely Japanese Boulangerie at the newly renovated Lau Ps Sat. After a training rides, we try to stop in between 9-11pm when their buns are $1 each. So far one our favourites is the Apple Cream Bun! It almost feels like we are in France already!

Next door the same shop sells cakes and this most incredible coffee jelly. All serves wonderfully for training incentive and a great date ride!

Training Begins!

We started our first training ride together. Also serves as date nights! In case you're wondering, Ivan is a road cyclist and bike commuter, while Renata is a fit leisure cyclist and accomplished athlete in her own sport of Kendo. While Renata will have no fitness issues with the upcoming bike tour, some training will be extremely helpful to increase bike confidence and make the tour more comfortable.

Well done dear! We did a short 19km tonight. Will be building up to 50km, then finally 2 days of 50km back to back. About 8 weeks to go!
